Solar Sign Lights Helped Distracted Drivers Stay On Course
Many cities and municipalities are using solar sign lights in order to help their community reduce the amount of accidents caused by distracted drivers who run stop signs. Distracted drivers could be distracted by a number of different things including cell phone use, eating while driving, children, dogs, the radio, CD player and just their own thoughts that take them to a different place when they should be concentrating on the road ahead.
Solar sign lights are LED flashing lights powered by the sun and solar panels connected to the poll on which the sign is attached. Solar powered signs could be directional signs in which an arrow points to the left or the right with four yellow or red LED flashing lights surrounding the arrow in order to help attract attention to the sign by the driver so that they might heed the warning of the sign and not have an accident.
Other solar signs are traffic signs like solar powered stop signs, solar powered yield signs, deer crossing signs, children at play signs, school bus stop ahead signs, emergency vehicle entrance and exit signs and traffic signals lines ahead and all of these signs are powered by solar panels attached to the upper part of the regular signs. The signs themselves have LED lights that flash on and off for 12 continuous hours in the hopes of attracting distracted drivers to help them avoid accidents.
Construction companies could also benefit from solar powered signs. Solar powered traffic signs could be helpful when there are people and large heavy machinery using the same roadways within the construction company’s compound. There are also solar gas detectors which help many manufacturing companies detect gas by using solar power gas detectors which can save companies thousands of dollars off of regular gas detectors that use much electricity which can be costly to a city’s municipality.
Solar powered gas detectors can be placed in companies where different gases are used to make sure gas leaks are detected in time before they make people ill or worse. And solar sign lights can be used at night because the sun’s energy can be stored up to 12 hours and then run continuously for 12 hours.
